A Burial At Sea Maritime Funeral Services is a small, family-owned operation that provides a caring, respectful and dignified delivery of the ashes of loved ones to the sea. We are NOT a large volume operation that processes thousands of ashes over the course of year. We ARE a small company that provides individualized and personal services. We are usually at sea two or more days every week simply because we love being on the ocean. Weather and sea conditions permitting, we are usually able to accommodate a request within 30 days.

A Burial At Sea provides a beautiful 8 ½" X 11" burial certificate recording date, latitude and longitude of the service. This information is recorded so that families may return for memorial services. The certificate is signed by the Captain and is suitable for framing. Click here to view a sample.

The areas that we travel to for the service are off the coast of Rhode Island. On a clear day, the areas are visible from different lighthouse locations that are accessible all year. Many families like to come back to these lighthouse locations to visit with their loved ones from shore.

The Captain records key information and files all required reports with government agencies.

My sister called and told me how peaceful and beautiful the scattering was today. How I wish I could have been there! I did my meditation this morning and I did feel like I was there in spirit. Thank you so much for making this a special service for my Mom and Dad. They should be very pleased to be among the lighthouses of Rhode Island again.
